Securing Your Place in the Program
Within 10 days of your acceptance, a non-refundable $500 advance payment secures your space in the program. This fee does not apply to Discovery Florence students. Online payment of deposit (advance payment) is a service available to SU students only (see instructions below).
Paying the Advance Payment Online (SU Students Only)
1) Paying by credit card? SU students can pay online using Mastercard, American Express or Discover. There is a fee for paying with a credit card.
For SU Fall or Spring SEMESTER students going abroad:

SU students choosing to pay the $500 advance payment online with a credit card should visit the CASHNet web site.

Select the option called "Advance Tuition Deposit - Returning Students Only". DO NOT CHOOSE SUABROAD ADVANCE SUMMER PAYMENT.

Be sure to manually change the default amount of $450 for Main Campus students in the PRICE field to $500.

Click “Make Payment" button

Click “Checkout” button (if advance payment is the only item being paid in this transaction – students/parents may add other payment types if they wish by clicking “Pay for more items” button

Disclosures screen: Click on terms and conditions link to read, check box to acknowledge that “I have read and accept terms and conditions, etc” and click “Continue Checkout” button

Fill in credit card info, click “Continue Checkout” button

Submit payment screen: Shows Amount being paid and Type of payment + CashNet Service Charge amount for TOTAL AMOUNT, with Submit Payment button.

You can log onto to MySlice to verify your payment has been received and is posted on your bursar account.

Remember, you will still need to submit the Intent to Register form.
For SU students going abroad in SUMMER choosing to pay their advance payment online:

Follow the instructions above

Select the option called "SU ABROAD ADVANCE SUMMER PAYMENT".

It will take a couple of days for the payment to show up on the SU Abroad's website that tracks your post acceptance forms. You can always log onto to MySlice to verify your payment has been received and is posted on your bursar account.

Remember, you will still need to submit the Intent to Register form!
2) Paying by EFT from a US checking or savings account?

Log on to NetPay

Students/parents who have not used NetPay before have to Sign Up first. The first person to use NetPay in association with a particular student account has to use the STUDENT Sign-Up option.

If already set up in NetPay, Login with username and password.

A list of payment types will appear. Choose “Advance Tuition”

Type in $500.00 in the Advance Tuition Box, choose payment date, verify e-mail address and choose checking or savings account

Type in bank info, check agreement to terms and conditions, and Submit
Paying Online
Once the Advance Payment is made (either online or by check) and received by the SU bursar's office, all students can make any subsequent payments online. Cashnet accepts Master Card, Discover or American Express.
- To make payments, go to the Bursar Office website at http://bfasweb.syr.edu/bursar
- Scroll down and you'll read #1 Credit and Debit card payments
- Choose "Click here to use this feature". You will be directed to Cashnet, which is the third party vendor SU uses for credit card payments. (There is a fee for paying with a credit card -- a percentage-- so read the info carefully.)
- On the Cashnet page, choose the "If you do not have a PIN" option. Enter your SU ID number and in the Last Name field enter your whole name exactly as it appears in the SU bursar system Use MySlice to look at your SU bursar account and confirm your name in the system.
- Choose bursar bill payment "select" option. Enter the amount you plan on paying - you need to know this in advance, it is not provided. Follow the directions and then be sure to print out your confirmation of payment for your records.
